Description

This set of editable Algebra 1 Binder Notes provides students with guided notes serving as an introduction to graphing quadratic functions. Students will explore the quadratic parent function from an equation, table, and graph. They will label the vertex, axis of symmetry, determine which way it opens, and define the intervals in which it increases and decreases. Students will also explore the effect of "a" and compare functions with different values of "a" to the parent quadratic function. On the back side of the sheet, students will practice determining where a quadratic is increasing/ decreasing, given a graph or table. Lastly, students will compare the rate of change over an interval, given two similar quadratics.

This download includes a print + go PDF and an editable PPT version. I have also included an option for each of those with "less ink", that does not include the black bar across the header. Download the preview to take a closer look at the page setup and types of questions included.

The Binder Notes on Key Features of Quadratic Functions provided a structured and comprehensive way to cover domain, range, vertex, axis of symmetry, and intercepts. The clear layout and space for examples helped my students stay organized and retain important vocabulary. It served as an excellent reference throughout our quadratics unit.
