Each KinderMath® unit includes both a pre-test and a post-test to monitor student growth. In addition, Units 1, 4, 8, and 13 feature cumulative assessments to ensure skills are being retained. Unit 13 also includes a comprehensive summative assessment that covers content from Units 1–13—perfect for measuring mastery across the year.

Aligned to the 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice

KinderMath is intentionally designed to help you confidently meet all 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice without extra planning or guesswork. Throughout the curriculum, students consistently engage in problem solving, hands-on exploration, and real-world application so they learn to make sense of math and stick with challenging tasks.

KinderMath supports deep understanding by moving students from concrete models to abstract thinking, helping them truly understand numbers, operations, and relationships rather than just memorize procedures. Daily opportunities for discussion and explanation build strong math language and reasoning skills, while built-in activities encourage students to justify their thinking and learn from others.

With embedded use of tools like manipulatives, ten frames, number paths, and visual models, students learn how to choose strategies that work best for them. The curriculum also emphasizes precision in number writing, symbol use, and clear communication.

Across all units, students naturally recognize patterns, number relationships, and repeated strategies through structured practice with counting, composing, decomposing, addition, and subtraction. This means your students are not just learning skills, they are developing strong mathematical habits that align directly with the Standards for Mathematical Practice.

With KinderMath, you can feel confident that your instruction is aligned, intentional, and building the kind of deep understanding students need for long-term success.

What are other teachers saying about KinderMath?

"My district uses a math program that quite frankly stinks! I have been struggling for three years to teach math in a way that makes sense and truly reaches my students. I know it is so important for them to have those foundational skills for the future so I would always stress and wish I had more guidance. This has been a LIFE SAVER. I cannot say enough about how well thought out these lessons are and how much SENSE they make. It is so nice to have piece of mind to know that my students are truly mastering concepts rather than jumping around to different objectives daily. Thank you for your amazing work, Tara! This is the best product I have purchased from TPT."
