Decodable Word Problems are math problems that your students can actually READ independently. This set includes 4 different problem types for the Kinder classroom (Addition: part-part-whole and joining; Subtraction: separating and part-part-whole problems). Each problem is a full page to allow little learners plenty of room to draw their representations. Most problems use CVC words with short vowels. There are a few problems with digraphs and blends and limited use of sight words. All problems include visuals to further assist student comprehension.

Each problem follows a simple 5 step problem solving process:

1. READ the decodable problem.
2. DRAW a simple picture to visualize the problem. (This section can also be used for manipulatives)
3. DOT the ten frames to build number sense and base-10 understanding.
4. WRITE a number sentence to match the problem.
5. CHECK the answer using a number path or number line.
