Each month, the rigor increases, but the activities follow a familiar pattern so that fast-finisher students can use the task cards independently. Your early finishers will receive a spiral review in both language arts and math. The skills covered in this resource are listed below:
Language Arts Skills - Letter Recognition, Letter Formation, Sight Words, Beginning Sounds, Medial Sounds, Ending Sounds, CVC Words, Blends, Digraphs, CVCE Words, Rhyming Words, Simple Sentences, Punctuation
Math Skills - Number Recognition, Counting, Number Formation, Patterns, Number Order, Teen Numbers, Addition, Subtraction, Ten Frames, Number Bonds, Tally Marks, Skip Counting, Making 10, Decomposing Numbers, Word Problems, Number Words, 2D and 3D Shapes
Included in each month, you will find:
- 8 literacy task card activities (approx. 12-16 cards per activity box)
- 8 math task card activities (approx. 12-16 cards per activity box)
- Student directions for each activity
Just print out the task cards, laminate them, and use them for years to come! It was important to me to keep the supplies needed to a minimum! For each month, you will only need the boxes, some dry-erase markers, and clothespins. With just three supplies, you are ready to go!
While these task cards work perfectly for an early finishers activity, they can also be used in many different ways!
Use them for:
- Guided Reading
- Morning work
- Literacy and math centers (especially paired with the companion worksheets)
- Early Finisher Activities
- Assessment
- RTI
- Classroom Volunteer Activities
