Description

This set of 9 lessons can be used for any nine weeks of classes.

This is a print and go curriculum. There is little prep and no specific books needed.

This is what I personally taught for my second nine weeks of classes. It is not specific to holidays that typically occur during the second nine weeks of the school year.

IT CAN BE USED WITH HOLIDAY BOOKS.

If you have technology available - great! You can easily integrate these resources. If you don't have technology or if its unreliable, all you need is a printer and you're set.

Nine Weeks Plans include:

•Complete detailed lesson plans including objective

•Worksheets

•Instructional Posters

•Suggestions for different ways to present the lessons

Lessons are designed to be completed in 20-30 minutes.

I taught these lessons or variations on them in my 12 years as a K-5 librarian. They are real world tested and student approved.

I believe the role of the librarian is to foster the development of lifelong learners and readers. That is why my curriculum focuses on exposure to many types of literature, research skills, and literacy. All lessons conform to AASL standards.

Lessons Cover:

  • Gathering Information from Nonfiction Books
  • Using the Table of Contents and Index
  • Character Traits - 2 parts
  • Story Sequence - 2 parts
  • Retelling - 2 parts
  • Nine Weeks Review with Narrative Nonfiction
