Description

Help students instantly recognize sets of quantities with a variety of subitizing activities. This Numbers in an Instant set builds quantity recognition (a skill known as subitizing) with dice, five frames, ten frames, and tally marks. The set is light on ink and requires minimal prep. Differentiated activity sheets are included for students to read numerals, cut and paste subtilized quantities, create their own quantity arrangements, and write the corresponding numerals.

Many materials can be used while students create their own dice, 5-frame and 10-frame arrangements. The dots and frame spaces can be drawn in with pencil, markers or crayons. Small incentive chart stickers or Mini Dots & Doodles offer a fun alternative. My students love using those materials all day long. For your own sanity, consider purchasing foam dice for students to QUIETLY roll while they work. I own a set with traditional dots, and another set with numerals on each side.

What Other Teachers are Saying...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My kids loved doing this for center time. Subitizing is a great way to help students gain number sense! I would definitely use this again if I were to teach Kindergarten again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent mix (tally marks, ten frames, dice) for number recognition. Thank you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is nice since I can differentiate, the kids are reading, writing, cutting, gluing, etc. I love to use dice and this has a nice dice component. Thanks!
