Kindergarten Pre-Primer Homework Packets by the Month- Common Core Aligned
Similar to my Kindergarten and First Grade monthly homework packets, this pre-primer packet has has four academic activities for the student to complete each week as well as skills such as tying shoes and reciting his or her phone number and address. Academic activities include: writing capital and lowercase alphabet, writing name and last name, responding to literature using early reading comprehension skills such as drawing a picture about the story, identifying beginning and ending sounds (single sounds) clapping and counting syllables, rhyming words, adjectives and their opposites, writing numbers, addition, subtraction, story problems, counting by ones and tens, counting objects, counting money, 2D shapes, etc.
This can be used for pre-kindergarten students or for kindergarten students requiring extra interventions to acquire foundational skills necessary for academic success. You can use this product, along with my other homework packets, to differentiate homework activities for your class.
I create a monthly homework packet by running the pages back to back and stapling them together. I pass out the packets on Monday and they are due Friday. I ask that families keep the pages stapled together as a packet. (September’s packet has a brief letter to the family explaining this!)
Each activity should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete, depending on the strengths and skills of the student. You can supplement the packet with other activities and books to read.
