Subitizing Cards

Hands-On Number Sense Practice for Kindergarten

These Subitizing Cards are perfect for helping students strengthen number sense and subitizing skills in a fun, hands-on way!

Students look at a card, subitize the number, and then build it on their mat before checking for understanding. This activity works well as a math station or in small-group practice.

How to Use:

• Show a card and have students identify how many
• Students cover the card with counting chips
• Check for understanding
• Partners can take turns: one covers the card while the other builds

Skills Practiced:

• Subitizing numbers 1–10 (or your range)
• One-to-one correspondence
• Counting and numeral recognition
• Cooperative play and turn-taking
