Description
Grow kind and caring students with this rock garden craftivity! This resource includes teacher directions and printables perfect for creating a paper rock garden memory page or a bulletin board display of rocks with messages of caring. Quick and easy print and go setup makes this activity perfect for centers or substitute days, too!
The printables in this resource would make a great drafting activity for a collection of actual painted rocks to display at school or to give away! This activity is also great as a prewrite exercise!
Here's what you'll get:
- Rock outlines (drawn by me) blank and also with messages
- A sign to identify the station activity and the bulletin board or actual rock garden
- Both full size and pocket sized booklet covers and pages to make a Caring Rocks rock garden memory book
- All pages in full color and also in black/white
- Teaching notes
As a scaffold, children who are not able to come up with messages can choose a message and color and cut out the rock. Coloring and cutting at first may inspire others to start creating their own messages!
Paper rocks with messages can sit on a table beneath your bulletin board for students to take, share, or add to just as they would with a garden created with actual rocks.
Use the “Caring Rocks!” booklet (print and assemble with ribbon, rings, duck or washi tape, or staples) for your students to collect paper rock messages from classmates. This will be a personal and treasured rock garden for kids to keep with them long after they leave your classroom!
Your students will love creating messages of caring thoughts as inspiration for themselves and others!
Prep is quick and easy... Just print the student pages, and you're ready for a fun and engaging activity!
