LOGO - Computer Technology - Creating designs by writing commands (Simple Programming and coding for younger learners! Perhaps those in Grades 3-8)

This is a complete unit of work. It features five full lessons, an assessment lesson and an extension lesson!

All activities, planning, presentations, and resources are provided and editable!

This unit introduces students to LOGO. This is a simple software program with which students can create artistic designs by writing and combining simple commands.

These lessons can work with a Windows Application called FMS LOGO or online directly in a browser using this website - https://www.calormen.com/jslogo/#

Students learn how to:

. Write commands to move the Turtle

. Utilize different colors

. Use the REPEAT command

. Create RANDOM designs

. Store and Reuse commands

And much much more!

This could be used in the upper years of elementary school or in early middle school. It's a great introduction to simple coding, using software that has been taught in schools for many, many years!
