Description

These programs are designed for use within a verbal behavior card sort system which research has proven an effective approach to teaching verbal behavior to students with Autism. Having premade programs makes it easier to implement with students quickly. You can easily adapt by adding or deleting a specific target based on individual needs. Organization minimizes prep time and maximizes student learning. Many of the programs were created to meet objectives found within the VBMAPP assessment.

This program was designed to expand the learner's listener response repertoire by targeting stimuli based on feature, function or class (LRFFC). Evidence explains that listener response skills play an important role in the process of communication. Teaching students to identify stimuli beyond the basic label by expanding to the categories, parts, and uses advances their language repertoire. LRFFC skills more easily transfer to intraverbal skills when the student is ready.

This program contains LRFFC lists, cards, and stimuli. I prefer to place the laminated photo stimuli directly behind the target card for easy location when working. Stimuli should be printed double-sided so that the stimuli have labels on the back. The labels allow you to easily match up cards and stimuli as well as create a stack of distractor stimuli for each program.
