Description
This bundle includes 3 lab activities. The topics include: Plate Boundaries, Heat Transfer, and The Rock Cycle. Individual descriptions given below.
Plate Boundaries - boundaries. Only 3, simple materials are required for this activity, making it easy for set-up and clean-up. The tactile aspect of this lab easily makes it a class favorite. Great for introducing or reviewing plate boundaries, layers of the earth, and tectonic plates.
Heat Transfer - A fun and easy way to teach heat transfers to middle grades. If your students are always asking when they can eat in class or complaining that lessons have been boring, this popcorn activity is perfect for you. The teacher set up is easy and your students will stay engaged. This activity can be done as a demo lab by the teacher while students read, discuss, and answer questions in groups. Or it can be adapted to allow students to have a more active role. There is also an optional word search (with or without a word bank) for vocabulary review if you want to extend the lesson. Materials list and helpful tips included.
The Rock Cycle - A great hands-on lab activity for learning the rock cycle. This lab includes pre- and post-lab questions, step-by-step instructions, and a fun diagram for students to record their observations. A short materials list is given for teachers as well as some helpful instructional tips and ideas. Lab procedures can be adjusted for classes needing more or less independence. This lab has always been a winner with my classes and is the one they talk about all year.
