Share

Description

In light of the increase need for distance learning, it's hard to see what this might look like for students with significant disabilities and early childhood students. This set of learning activities focus on encouraging language development activities with families with tools they have around their house.

Who is the For?

This set of tools is perfect for sending home to families of students who:

  • may not be able to participate in traditional online learning activities
  • are in early childhood settings like preschool
  • have severe disabilities
  • are not verbal or have limited verbal skills
  • students working in life skills activities

What's Included?

  • Directions for families to complete the activities
  • Link to an editable online document to create a calendar of activities
  • 10 scavenger hunts in which students find household or natural items and work in various ways to describe them verbally or recognize them by descriptors nonverbally
  • 3 directions for games that can facilitate language activities
