Notify parents that their child did not return with their homework with this slip.
When a student does not return their homework, send one half sheet home to notify the parents of incomplete work.
These notices can be used as preferred, but I have included a description below to explain how I have used them in my own classroom:
If a student does not bring their homework back to school, they will receive an “OOPS!” form. The “Oops” slip will be stapled to the late/missing assignment and will be given back to the student. He/she will take the assignment back home to be signed by a parent or guardian, and will need to return it to school the following day, along with the completed homework.
If the same assignment is not done on the second day, the student will bring it with them to recess or free time and finish before joining their friends. They will also need to take the assignment and “OH NO!” form home to be signed by the parent and brought back the following day. Students will not be allowed to call home if they forget their work.
If homework is returned late three time within a month, the student may lose a class-wide reward or may receive a detention.
This document can be printed in advance, cut into half pages to save paper, and kept in the teacher's desk ready to be utilized in the situation that a student does not have their homework.
