Description
This provides your students a creativity and design challenge with a novel twist that will get them working in a team to achieve a common goal.
The activity focuses on:
•Problem solving
•Design
•Collaborative learning
•‘Out of the box’ thinking
•Oral literacy
•Creativity
What is Included:
1) A student sheet to outline the challenge
2) Teacher instructions for the challenge
Who is it suitable for?
This can be adapted so that it can be used in a range of ways for a range of learners. I used this with students aged 14 but it is a task that lends itself best to teenagers interested in youth provision in their area.
What it involves
Students are provided with pictures and a map showing the location of 3 derelict buildings in their local area. They also need a list of current youth provision for their area.
Teams are set up to work on designing a new youth provision experience based in the building of their choice. It is an open ended task that you can adapt to suit the age of your learners.
