Tired of guessing what truly engages your students. You will quickly understand students' preferences and what types of lessons they want throughout the year. The best part, no supplies are required. It is adaptable for any subject- from math and social studies to English, music, and, of course, science class.
Students will
- use the scientific method.
- collect and analyze class data and calculate the mode.
- create a graph.
- reflect deeply on personal and class learning preferences.
- discuss ways to make different learning strategies more engaging.
This is not a basic survey. Students will rank the learning strategies/activities using a 0-3 scale. It will enable students to think more deeply about how they learn best. While they are learning about themselves, they will also be reviewing the scientific method. Two lessons in one!
We estimate 2-3 days for the lesson. The lesson is recommended for 4th-8th grade. Fourth graders may need more scaffolding depending on prior knowledge of the scientific method and graphing.
Empower your students to think like scientists and gain a deeper understanding of how they learn while you discover their likes and dislikes.
