I use this in my Special Education resource classes as well as in the regular education classroom. Since we have to review learning targets each day, I have the students write them down. Then, as we work toward those targets, the students can write down exactly what we did to get to those targets. This helps keep them accountable, lets parents know what we've been doing in class to prepare students, and provides documentation of what I do to reach those targets. Then, students can rate their learning to determine whether they are ready to be assessed on each new skill.
