Description

There are 10 different problems in this set. Each page contains one problem, space for solving, and lines for writing an explanation.

No answer key is included because I want students to really THINK about these problems.

My students love solving these types of problems because they are SO silly. If you are looking to increase quality math talk in your classroom, use this set to get them talking about goat legs, pirate legs, and ostrich legs!

Students will need basic skip counting knowledge. My students who struggle with skip counting often draw out the animals/people in the story and are able to solve the problems that way. These are a challenge, but honestly most second graders can solve these.

I have used these in my classroom to help with my personal goal of increasing student to student math talk. They would also be a great early finisher activity or math challenge center.
