About the store
Hi! I'm Meredith, and I've been working in education for nearly 18 years. Most of my teaching career has been spent in first grade (13 wonderful years!), but I've also taught second grade for three years and third grade for two years. Along the way, I've gained additional experience working in kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade as a building substitute. Since 2019, I've enjoyed mentoring student teachers and opening my classroom to future educators. I love sharing ideas, collaborating, and helping new teachers build confidence in their craft. I am passionate about creating engaging, meaningful learning experiences that help students grow academically and socially. My goal is to make learning fun, effective, and accessible while supporting teachers with resources that are classroom-tested, student-approved, and easy to implement. Thanks for stopping by—I’m so glad you’re here! 🍎📚✨

Teaching style

I believe that a well-structured classroom sets the stage for meaningful learning. Consistent routines and classroom rituals are at the heart of my teaching philosophy, helping students build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging while creating an environment where academics can thrive.

Awards & shining teacher moments

In the spring of 2013, I was honored to be nominated as my district’s Teacher of the Year. Although I was not selected, the experience was one that I deeply treasure. It challenged me to reflect on my practice, celebrate my accomplishments, and continue growing as an educator. In 2009, my first-grade team and I received a Spotlight Award for our work on an engaging Creepy Crawly Unit. This award is given to only 25–30 educators each year in a district of approximately 1,500 teachers. It was a tremendous honor to be recognized for a project that reflected our passion for creating meaningful and memorable learning experiences for our students.

My own education history

My educational journey began at Dean College, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance in 2005. I later pursued my passion for teaching at Sacred Heart University, earning a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Elementary Education in 2007. In 2013, I completed a Sixth-Year Degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Educational Technology from University of Connecticut, further strengthening my understanding of how students learn and how technology can enhance instruction.

Additional biographical information

In addition to my classroom experience, I have served as a professional development developer, trainer, and presenter, supporting colleagues through meaningful learning opportunities and instructional coaching. I also served as the model classroom teacher for Math Centers in Stamford Public Schools, showcasing best practices and effective instructional strategies. I am trained and certified as a School Climate Specialist and have received extensive training in both Responsive Classroom and Restorative Practices. Throughout my career, I have been committed to fostering positive school communities and creating supportive learning environments for all students. Additionally, I have proudly served for many years as a Grade Level Leader, collaborating with colleagues, facilitating team initiatives, and helping to support student success across grade levels.
