Description
The 10 Essential Lessons
This is a 7-hour, video-based course that will provide students the unique and specialized skill set needed to play contemporary music. These lessons, designed for the keyboard but applicable to all instruments and digital creators, focus on ear training, harmony, theory, and composition. After completing the course, students will have acquired the skills to create their own original music and play all their favorite songs in any key with chord charts.

More information about the lessons:
The course can be worked on independently (answer videos are provided to ensure students learn everything correctly) or used as a classroom resource. The lessons are organized and sequential; all students, regardless of their experience in music, will benefit by taking the lessons in order.

In Lesson 1, students will learn about the Cycle of 5ths, and then use the cycle to figure out the 1st and 5th notes of the Major, Natural Minor, and Mixolydian Scales.
In Lesson 2, students will build on what they've learned in Lesson 1 to figure out by ear the 2nd, 3rd and 4th notes of the Major Scale, and then use the interval equation to ensure the notes are correct. Here, they will learn the first harmony: the Major Triad.
