Learning how to build and read an array is a basic logic and math skill. It is a precursor to more advanced skills to come such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra.

This resource contains four sets of ten objects divided into Valentine themes.

* Red frame: Envelope, candy heart, candy kiss
* Yellow frame: Rose, candy kiss, envelope
* Blue frame: Candy heart, rose, candy kiss
* Green frame: Rose, envelope, candy heart

Select the cards you wish to have your students practice. Laminate, cut out and post at various locations around the room. You will also need to place six crayons (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple) near each location for student use. Or, as an alternative, the children may simply carry the colors they will need with them. The crayons will need to be in some sort of container, however, as the crayons plus a clipboard is too many for little hands to carry. If you use mini-clipboards in your classroom, simply fold the full pages in half and have your students complete one side at a time. Alternatively, the cards may be placed into a container for use at a learning center.

Response Pages: Students will color or daub the correct shape which is missing in the array from a multiple choice selection.
