Description

This resource helps students explore the features of lowercase letters by sorting each letter according to if it is made up of curvy lines, straight lines, or both. This resource also includes a sort to help students explore the placement of letters on primary lined paper using the 'house' analogy combined with the hand as a reference that can be used anywhere, anytime. (For support with this analogy, see the House-Hand Handwriting Reference at my store, The Literacy Brain.)

This resource is meant to be used whole group or small group with the instructor guiding students in discussing letter features and placement. It is more about the conversations students have than the actual correct answers. Each letter tile can be dragged to the correct section of the sort.

***This is just one of many resources that help children begin their journey to creating a strong literacy brain. I would love for you to check out more resources that support the House-Hand strategy for handwriting in my TPT store, The Literacy Brain.
