Our Library Skills lesson plan teaches students the basics of using libraries to find books, information, and other resources. Students are asked to match common book and library words (such as index and table of contents) to their definitions. Students are also asked to do a fun dictionary word hunt that gives them the opportunity to practice looking things up in the dictionary.

At the end of the lesson, students will define, explore, and synthesize text features and reference sources and explain the purpose and use of library skills introduced in this lesson.
