Summary:
Students investigate how light interacts with materials through diffraction, refraction, absorption, and reflection. They use lasers, LEDs, lenses, diffraction glasses, mirrors, and color filters to observe light bending, spreading, being absorbed, or bouncing. Observations include laser patterns on CDs (diffraction), magnified or reduced text through convex/concave lenses (refraction), filtered colored light (absorption), and light bouncing off mirrors at equal angles (reflection). Lab reinforces how light behaves differently depending on the medium and surface. Teacher key included provides expected observations, explanations, and real-world examples.
