How do I use it in class?
I’ve used these packets as my main form of notes for over 11 years, and they’ve become a cornerstone of my students’ success. Each packet is printed at the beginning of a unit and handed out to students. This makes it easy for them to stay organized and keep up — even if they’re absent — since they can fill in missed notes at home with the video links provided.
I recommend that students use a 3-ring binder to keep all of their packets together throughout the year. During lessons, I project the notes on the board and fill them in with the class.
These packets have been proven effective year after year — I’ve consistently seen significant growth in my students’ standardized test scores as a result of using this note-taking system.
*Please note: These packets include the guided notes only, not full lesson plans. After introducing concepts, I reinforce learning through games, activities, projects, Desmos, DeltaMath, and more to deepen understanding and engagement.
What programs will I need?
The notes packet and key are both pdf documents. The editable documents are all Word files. The video links and pacing guide are both Excel files.
