Description
Update I added Linear Equations and Graphs Assignment #8 which has a YouTube explanation of the odd answers. It can also be completed at socrative.com.
Update I added an Intro to Writing an Equation in 3 Forms. It has a YouTube video and an accompanying socrative quiz.
Update I added Assignment #7. It can be printed or used at socrative.com
These files investigate the following forms:
1. Slope intercept form
2. Standard form
3. Point slope form
Included in the zip folder are 6 PDF files. 3 are assignments and 3 are references. A brief description of each:
Reference #1 is a 1 page printable. It gives the 3 investigated forms in abstract notation[ax+by=d, y=mx+b and y-y1=m(x-x1)] and non abstract notation and acts as notes and examples for students to read.
Reference #2 is like #1 with different examples.
Reference #3 is a 1 page printable file. The emphasis is all 3 forms as well as information about parallel and perpendicular lines. Some examples are given over writing an equation in pint slope form and converting it to slope intercept and standard form.
Assignment #1 is a 1 page, 32 question assignment. There are 8 multiple choice and 24 short answer questions. The student identifies:
1. The slope and y intercept in slope intercept form as well as some equations that are "almost" in slope intercept form.
2. The slope and the point used to write an equation in point slope form.
3. A line in either of the 3 forms
