Description
This is a 3-page linear functions test containing 22 questions (some with multiple parts).
Specifically, question #1 gives the student a graphed line and asks them to identify the slope, x-intercept and the y-intercept. On questions 2-4, the student finds the slope from an equation, a graph and a table. On question #5, the student identifies the rate of change from a verbal description. Question #6 entails a direct variation question. On question #7, the student is given an equation in standard form and is asked to find the intercepts and then use them to graph the line.
On questions 8 & 9, the student is given an equation in standard form and point-slope form and asked to rewrite the equation in slope-intercept form and then identify the slope and y-intercept. On question #10 the student is given a graph and is asked to describe the meaning of the x-intercept, y-intercept and rate of change from the graph. On question #11, the student is given 3 equations in slope-intercept form and asked to graph each line by using the slope and y-intercept. Finally, on question #12 the student is given a verbal description and asked to write an equation that represents the situation.
On questions #13 - 20 the student is given multiple situations such as 2 points on a line, the intercepts, a graph, a point and a slope, etc and asked to write the equation of each line in either slope-intercept or point-slope form. Finally, questions #21 and 22 are linear transformations questions.
2 Different forms of the test and a key for both included. 12 pages.
