Linear Regression Project
Share

Description

This regression project compares the QB statistics of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. It asks the students to create a scatter plot, find the line of best fit and then to use that line of best fit to make predictions on the future.

The project asks students to take into account real life events and determine whether or not they think they can trust their own predictions. (Ex: prediction in 2020, what factors might influence the numbers in 2020?)

They are also asked to compare their predictions in 2011 with the actual numbers in 2011. (In 2011 both quarterbacks had interesting years. Tom Brady broke the single season touchdown record, and Peyton Manning missed the whole season due to injury.)

Sorry I am so late on replying! I'm glad it was helpful to you. I think the kids like the project as a little change of pace. Might be even more relevant if the Broncos and Patriots make the Super Bowl this year!
