About the store
I originally started my career by pursuing a degree in elementary education. After two years in my program, I realized I was disappointed in the lack of support and focus around individualized child needs. I wanted to learn more about WHO I was teaching rather than WHAT I was teaching. I went on to receive my B.S in Human Development and Family Services with a focus in Child Development at Indiana University. Right after graduation, I entered the Innovative Teachers Program at an internationally renowned independent school, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here, I was mentored in responsive curriculum development, Reggio Emilia inspired practices, and project based learning for three years. After this formative experience, I went on to help start a brand new independent school for gifted youth. I have been working with K-2nd grade students since.

Teaching style
My style of teaching is inspired by Reggio Emilia based practices where the interest of the students are at the forefront of everything I develop. I believe in fostering independence, voice and choice, resiliency, and empathy through all subjects. I strive to create play based and project based activities to ignite a love for learning at an early age.
