Description
Literacy Stations were created in response to the increasing needs of students. Twenty-six Literacy Stations, corresponding to each letter of the alphabet, target the following objectives:
· Alphabet knowledge:
o sound/symbol association;
o letter identification;
o phonemic awareness-blending and segmenting;
o letter formation.
· Numeracy:
o counting;
o subitizing;
o number recognition.
· Language:
o vocabulary (labeling, categorizing);
o grammar (pronouns, verb tenses, sentence formulation, question formation);
o concept understanding.
A single station can be used to support individual children or targeted groups to provide explicit instruction. Available in PDF format, these Stations are ready to download, print and post throughout the school easily lending themselves to provide purpose during movement breaks.
