"The self checking portion of this activity is THE BEST!!!! This is a skill my students are supposed know how to do this before 6th grade, but we always need to review it. This was perfect for that. "

Description

Give your students meaningful, scaffolded practice with long division of multi-digit decimals using this interactive, self-checking digital activity—perfect for practicing the standard algorithm in 5th and 6th grade math. Designed for use with Google Sheets, this no-prep resource provides instant feedback and promotes step-by-step accuracy.

How does it work?

Students will rewrite each division problem to have a whole-number divisor, and then they will solve each problem. As students complete each problem, they will receive feedback with each row they complete.

  • Each row must be completed before it changes color - encouraging precision and discouraging guessing:
    • ✅ Correct = green
    • ❌ Incorrect = red
  • When an entire problem is completed correctly, a digital sticker is revealed!
  • Includes nine total problems

What’s Included in the PDF download:

  • Link to the self-checking activity (made for use with Google Sheets)
  • Two printable worksheets (great for differentiation!)
  • Answer key

This resource is ideal for math centers, independent practice, homework, early finishers, or sub plans. Perfect for building fluency and confidence with long division!

Please note that this activity is made for use with Google Sheets.

All you need to do is assign this to students on any platform you can assign Google Sheets (i.e., Google Classroom). Make sure to select the option to make a copy for each student.
