An engaging and interactive explicit phonics lesson to introduce the vowel digraph - long oo (as in moon) with multiple chances to apply and practise the new skill . Over 70 animated PowerPoint slides (some with sound effects) are included with the following reading and writing activities:
-oo poster with pictures
-Example words with pictures - decodable (moon, room, tooth, hoop, boot, food )
-Click on the correct sound picture
-Which sound is it - click on the correct digraph
-Read and circle the oo digraph in the words
-15 slides with decodable oo words to read
-8 slides with decodable sentences to read
- Find the oo digraph slide
- Animated correct formation slide with fingers tracing
- 6 Picture prompts to write words on whiteboards
- 2 dictation sentences with picture prompt to write on whiteboards
- Swat the oo words/ read and draw picture slide
- I spy the 'oo' picture slide (9 pictures hiding) - can also be printed and used in literacy activities
++Most of the slides double as printable and can be printed and laminated to be used as classroom displays, flashcards and activity centres.
