As we read the chapter, we discuss the short answer questions aloud before students write. Once we finish reading, students complete the short answer questions in pairs. Students then complete the common-core test style questions individually.

I love this whole set of quizzes. They are formatted differently, for variety's sake, which the students appreciated, and they quickly assess what the students have carried over from the previous day's discussion, addressing different skills and content learning. Thanks for the help!
