MONTESSORI SEWING CARD IN PDF FILE
(This is a pdf file. Just print onto thick A4 colour paper, and good to start with the activity)
This sewing card activity is excellent for children who are beginning to learn to sew. It allows the children to practice threading a needle and manipulating a needle prior to the actual sewing. Once the children have developed the skill of sewing cards, they then can continue to the button or hessian sewing activity to further develop their sewing skills. When children working on this sewing activity, the children will:
- repeat precise hand movements leading to concentration and self-mastery
- develop control and coordination of whole-body movement
- develop hand-eye coordination
- develop confidence in own ability to complete simple everyday tasks
