Description

The activity

This activity uses clues to get the kids moving from place to place working together or individually to solve math problems.

Students now have an excuse to explore the room or hallway as they have fun doing math!

OBJECTIVES

  • Add /subtract rational expressions

INCLUDED

  • 16 Station Cards
  • Recording worksheet

DIRECTIONS

  1. Print 16 stations and scatter them around the room, on desks, walls, and even the hallway for more adventure.
  2. Distribute the recording worksheet to each student, then organize students in pairs or have them work individually.
  3. Assign a starting problem to each group. Students will  simplify each problem showing their work on the recording worksheet. The answer they get will lead them to the next station.
  4. Students will continue until they have done all 16 problems. Note the starting problem for each group/student for grading purpose.
