Description

Students love stories with murder, intrigue, ghosts. Why not have them investigate one of the most notorious killers in all of literature, Macbeth?

This activity asks students to dig into the text for textual evidence from across all acts of the play. In addition, students will be asked to analyze the use of symbols, motifs, and the rise and fall of Macbeth as a tragic hero.

This product works great in remote or in-person classrooms. Especially helpful is the digital and customizable crime board template. This is great for students at all levels, but it is especially helpful for students who need an extra hand to grasp the concepts in Macbeth.

This was a fantastic final project for my Macbeth unit that also counted as their final for the year! They enjoyed the connection to true crime, which many of them are interested in. We created physical crime boards using poster boards, notecards, post-its, etc. This project allowed students to showcase their comprehension, critical thinking, reasoning, and creative skills.

I was looking for an engaging activity for my students to use and liked the idea of this project. I did change things up a little, but I think the idea of this project is great.
