Description

Advanced English LitGuides provide a complete approach to advanced English instruction. This is one of 27 self-contained novel or play units that include a unit guide, lesson building strategies, support literature, plot/style quizzes, close-reading passages, AP style essays and tests, and examples of student work. Also included is a folder or folders of teaching strategies. These guides are available in .docx format so you can adapt them as you see fit.

Macbeth can be taught in a Pre-AP 10th grade or an AP Lit course. Students enjoy the witches and the scheming. This is a good unit to teach the AP essay. I take students through two AP style essays: the "evil or immoral" prompt and the "passion vs. responsibility" prompt. I include lots of student work.
