Magic Number Talks are a great tool to use with small or whole groups to work on logic and utilize math vocabulary in an authentic way. This product comes with clues to accompany a chart for 1-20, a second set for 1-50 and then a third set for 1-100. Vocabulary includes terms for operations (sum, difference, product, quotient), geometry (shapes, sides and vertices), and money (penny, nickel, dime, quarter). These work best if clues are given one at a time and the chart is marked with numbers that are excluded as possibilities for being the Magic Number. This can be done with a traditional hundred pocket chart, a projected version, or charts for each student to have his own. Extensions for scaffolding would include students writing clues for a number of their own!
