Magnets activity. Learning about Magnets is FUN! Get ready to have your students demonstrate their knowledge about Magnets using this fresh and funky MAGNETS FLIP FLAP BOOK®!

DIGITAL OPTIONS NOW INCLUDED:

We have now added Google Slide activities to accompany each unit. You can click on the Google Slides link, make a copy, and now begin using it with your students. You can add the Google Slide links to Google Classroom, via email, Microsoft Teams, and Seesaw, etc. This will give you the ability to provide the unit activities digitally to your students.

Included in this unit is:

* 1 M-A-G-N-E-T-S Flip-Flap Book® - The students will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned about MAGNETS. This book is to be used as an EXTENSION and/or expository writing resource to your lessons and/or experiments on MAGNETS. This resource can also be used as an authentic assessment at the culmination of your unit on magnets.

They will:

- define what a magnet is and what it does

- draw and label two bar magnets attracting and two bar

magnets repelling and write why magnets repel each other

- draw and label the 4 types of metal that magnets are

attracted to

- describe a picture {that is shown} about the magnetic field of

magnets

- complete a Magnets - Can, Have, Are graphic organizer

- draw and label the largest magnet {earth} and explain why

it is a magnet

- Magnet Mania - the students will search the classroom for

6 objects that are attracted to their magnet and label their

pictures. They will also draw and label 2 objects that are not

attracted to their magnet and explain why.

Please Note: This unit requires 8 1/2 x 11 AND 8 1/2 x 14 (legal size) photocopy paper. In order to print this unit, you will need BOTH SIZES OF PAPER!
