Description

Bundle: Magnets, Magnetic Forces and Static Electricity Task Cards and Digital Task Card Quiz, NGSS 3-PS2-3

This STEM bundle includes 12 UNIQUE, PRINTABLE TASK CARDS and a DIGITAL TASK CARD QUIZ, both aligned with Next Generation Science Standard 3-PS2-3 Motion and Stability: Forces and Interactions (Magnets and Static Electricity). Task cards have a wide variety of uses (see below), are a quick way to determine your students' understanding of the topic: magnetism and static electricity. The 12 different task cards pose questions in various formats (true/false, multiple choice, etc.).

The task card quiz consists of 12 digital task cards. Through the use of a Google form, the quiz is self-grading and automatically creates a spreadsheet of your students' scores, thus saving you time while providing a digital experience for your students! Simply copy and paste the values into your gradebook (or link your Google gradebook), and grading is done. The Google form even shows a graph of response data, making it easier than ever to assess your students' mastery of understanding concepts of Magnetic and Electrical Forces.

3-PS2-3 summary: Ask questions to determine cause and effect relationships of electric or magnetic interactions between two objects not in contact with each other. [Clarification Statement: Examples of an electric force could include the force on hair from an electrically charged balloon and the electrical forces between a charged rod and pieces of paper; examples of a magnetic force could include the force between two permanent magnets, the force between an electromagnet and steel paperclips, and the force exerted by one magnet versus the force exerted by two magnets. Examples of cause and effect relationships could include how the distance between objects affects strength of the force and how the orientation of magnets affects the direction of the magnetic force.]

Task cards are great for whole-class games, STEM centers/stations, fast finishers, extra practice, homework, scavenger hunts, quiz-quiz-trade, morning work, small groups, or review for tests.

Helpful features:

  • Each unique printable card is numbered for your convenience
  • A student recording sheet is included, for the printable cards
  • Answer keys are included (the quiz is self-grading!)
  • The NGSS code is listed in the corner of each of the printable cards
  • The printable task cards are included in both color and black-and-white
