Description

Looking for a hands-on winter science experiment that will excite your students and get their STEM skills flowing? Whether you're snowed in or dreaming of a white winter, the Fake Snow Science Experiment is the perfect activity to bring the magic of snow to your classroom or homeschool!

In this engaging activity, students will test and compare three different recipes for fake snow—shaving cream and baking soda, hair conditioner and baking soda, and Insta-Snow powder. They’ll hypothesize, measure, mix, and observe as they discover the science behind each recipe. It’s tactile, messy (but not too messy!), and most importantly—fun!

This winter-themed science activity isn’t just about making snow; it’s about exploring the states of matter and physical changes through hands-on testing.

The Fake Snow Showdown activity comes with everything you need for a successful and engaging winter science lesson! Here's what’s included:

  • Recipe Instructions
  • Hypothesis Worksheet
  • Observation Chart
  • Reflection Questions

This fake snow lab was such a fun and engaging activity! It was easy to set up, super hands-on, and instantly captured everyone’s attention. The “snow” felt realistic and made learning feel like play—perfect for adding a little winter magic to the day when snow is not expected this year for students. Highly recommend for a fun and memorable experience that test students observations!
