Description

This packet provides students practice completing math equations with a missing addend. Give your students each one dice or two die (for increased challenge) and have them practice rolling the dice, recording the number they roll, and then completing the math equation so that it equals a given sum. This packet has a page for students to practice creating math equations that equal 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. You may run these pages off individually or as a packet. In my classroom, I use this game as a math center. I typically start by having all students practice making math sentences that equal 10. Then, each week I provide the students with a different page to practice creating math sentences that equal a different sum. As an additional challenge, you may provide students with two dice and have them add those numbers together before completing the math equations if they are working toward a sum of twelve or higher.
