Description

Do you need an easy, fun way to teach how to make an inference? In this station, students study a photograph and complete the statement I think ___ because I see ___.

This builds an early foundation of providing evidence to support an inference.

Two recording sheets are provided, one that only requires a written response, another that requires students to imitate the picture by drawing what they see which allows you to scaffold or differentiate.

The great thing about this product is that it can serve as a year-round self-sustaining station to support the reading strategy of making and supporting inferences with evidence.

**Includes 34 color photographs**

AND a digital component for Google Classroom or Seesaw!

Great for:

  • whole group lessons
  • station activities after a lesson
  • self-sustaining literacy or writing station

For Texas teachers, this product relates to the following TEKS:

1.6F Make inferences and use evidence to support understanding with adult assistance.

This material is great for building inferencing skills in a structured, engaging way. The scenarios are age-appropriate and spark thoughtful discussion. I like that it encourages students to use context clues and explain their reasoning. A useful resource for targeting higher-level language in therapy
