2nd graders become historians in this activity through analysis of primary sources! Students used clues in photographs to infer which Native American group (the Powhatan, Lakota, or Pueblo) was depicted in each photo.

This activity includes a blank student recording sheet with lines for young writers, link to my Prezi with photographs, two student samples, and space for a reading, social studies, and writing grade.

This product is aligned with Virginia's 2nd Grade Reading SOL 2.9 (make inferences), Social Studies SOL 2.2 (compare lives of three American Indian groups), and Writing SOL 2.12 (expand writing).
