Students practice making both qualitative and quantitative observations using a hands-on approach in this activity.

Included are both a pumpkin observation activity and an apple observation activity. You may model one together and do the second independently. I use one for 7th grade and one for 8th grade to practice these crucial scientific practice skills.

You will find teacher notes that include what materials you will need, directions on how to complete and a reminder slide to put on the board for what types of observations you may be looking for from your students.

There is no answer key included, as students will make unique observations based on what materials you include.
