Description

This addition and math resource was created to give 1st and 2nd grade students practice with the concept of putting together a specific group of numbers for the purpose of making ten. Your kiddos will have so much fun trying to determine which single-digit and double-digit addends (from 0 to 10) go together in order to make a sum of ten!

How It Works: Either whole class or within a small group setting, students are presented with a group of 3, 4, or 5 addends. Students then decide which numbers can be added together in order to produce a sum of 10. Making a ten gets more difficult as the number of addends increases. For task cards #1-8, students select 2

out of 3 addends to make a ten. For task cards #9-16, 3 out of 4 addends are selected. For task cards #17-24, 4 out of 5 addends are selected. Answer choices are then recorded on a separate recording sheet.
