This math resource was created to give 1st and 2nd grade students practice with the concept of reading and writing number words that add up to ten. Your kiddos will have so much fun reading single-digit number words and putting them together to make tens!
How it works: Students read a brief 2-line poem: "Read, Read, Read Again! What (?) and What (?) make ten!" After reading, students are given two answer choices to determine which number word is needed in order to correctly complete the rest of the poem. Answer choices are recorded IN NUMBER WORDS on the answer recording sheet.
