Several student friendly videos provide valuable supplemental information to increase background knowledge. Students are also asked to answer 3 questions and complete a symbolism activity in response to what they learn from the resources.

Students benefit when supplemental material is vetted, available and frontloaded prior to a unit of study. By allowing exploration of valuable resources, it creates opportunity for deeper understanding and comprehension, and increases supportive information needed for writing.
