Description

This completely digital product includes a PowerPoint presentation, accompanying illustrated student guided notes, and two pages of review worksheets, and will provide students with a thorough introduction to the Human Reproductive System! This 28-slide PowerPoint includes the following topics (in this order):

1. Introduction: What is Reproduction?

2. Male Reproductive System: Purpose, Hormones, Anatomy

3. Female Reproductive System: Purpose, Hormones, Anatomy

4. Female Menstrual Cycle: Follicular Phase, Ovulation, Luteal Phase, Menstruation

These notes are highly interactive! Students will fill in the blanks and label a full-page diagram of both the male and female reproductive anatomy as the content is presented. Helpful images and diagrams from the Power Point are also embedded within the guided notes to assist student understanding. In addition, summary questions are included throughout the presentation after each major sub-topic. Finally, included in the PowerPoint are links to several YouTube videos I have found helpful in teaching this material, which are of course optional! The level of detail is appropriate for a middle school biology or high school general biology course, but perhaps not sophisticated enough for an Advanced Placement course.

The review worksheets pair directly with the PowerPoint, and can be used as a homework assignment, or even a quiz!

The review sheet titled Reviewing concepts "Human Reproduction" is missing the answer in the third space for #1 "...They are enclosed in a sac called the _________________". Overall, it was great.

Use argument supported by evidence for how the body is a system of interacting subsystems composed of groups of cells. Emphasis is on the conceptual understanding that cells form tissues and tissues form organs specialized for particular body functions. Examples could include the interaction of subsystems within a system and the normal functioning of those systems. Assessment does not include the mechanism of one body system independent of others. Assessment is limited to the circulatory, excretory, digestive, respiratory, muscular, and nervous systems.
