This is an excellent project for the first days of school! Students will create their own Mandalas representing something sacred to them, and turning it into art. Simple project that gives students and teachers the opportunity to get to know one another. Finished mandalas make a great bulletin board or notebook cover art. Includes templates. (Works exceptionally well in a math classroom as a brief lesson on using the compass.)
